The following are a selection of ads found in issues of American Cinematographer published during the early-1950’s. It was common in those days for patrons to embrace the Christmas theme, a charming habit that has sadly fallen into obscurity. Surely, there were many things about American culture that needed to change during that era, but there’s no power imaginable that can convince me it wasn’t a better time compared to the one we’re currently living in.
Nonetheless, we’re alive at this moment and are commanded to make it our own. Rather than wait for New Years Day to pledge our improvements, let’s do it right now!
