Great Video!
Same with my 35 III. I didn’t need it, but I bought because I wanted to have it.
It’s funny how much more complicated cameras have become in an attempt to make them simpler.
Ill hang on to my old motorcycles and my vinyl music as long as I breath.
Tim, may you have many more decades of breath in which to hang on to those things!
Dennis – at the very least our cameras make for very solid doorstops!
A simple, elegant, highly effective story telling machine.
Guy – the Arri 2C…or me? 😉
I love that interview!
I also started using ARRI cameras before digital ones; my first film was shot with an Arriflex 16, then I used an SR2, an SR3 and finally an ARRI 435.
I miss using them so much!
Digital cameras were supposed to be faster and cheaper and they ended up being slower and more expensive on set.
Luigi – “Digital cameras were supposed to be faster and cheaper and they ended up being slower and more expensive on set.”
Truer words have never been spoken!
At NYU we learned and mastered the 16mm Arri S. That was an easy transition to the IIC, but one of my earliest clients as a working AC was with the IIC in a blimp. That was challenging. I loved the Arri S. Even with the magazine attached.
The IIC will forever remain a true favorite though in my early years as an AC.
Love your posts RC! Best wishes!!
